How to See Step-Based Drop-Off Rates in Your Lead Form

This guide will show you how to identify where prospects are getting stuck and dropping off in your lead form. By analyzing drop-off rates, you can pinpoint which steps need optimization to increase conversions and leads.

Step by step guide video on how you will learn how to see step based drop off rates for your form:

Accessing Step-Based Drop-Off Metrics

To find drop-off metrics for your lead form:

  1. Open Your Lead Form
  • Navigate to the lead form you want to analyze.
  • Click on the Edit Form button to enter the Lead Form Builder.

  1. Locate the Metrics Section
  • Inside the Lead Form Builder, shift your attention to the right-hand side.
  • Click on Metrics (located above the list of steps).

  1. View Drop-Off Data
  • A new section will load in the middle, displaying data for each step in your form.
  • The table includes important metrics such as:

Sessions: The number of people who viewed each step.

Conversion Rate: The percentage of users who completed the step and moved forward.

Drop-Off Rate: The percentage of users who abandoned the form at a specific step.

Step Duration: The average time users spend on a step.

Analyzing Drop-Off Data for Optimization

  • Identify steps with high drop-off rates and consider making changes to improve completion rates.
  • If a step has a high step duration, users may find it confusing. Adjust the wording, layout, or type of question.
  • Example: If 60% of users drop off at the "Name" step, you might rephrase the question, simplify the input field, or adjust its placement.

Rearranging Steps

If you need to change the order of steps:

  1. Switch to Form View inside the Lead Form Builder.
  2. Drag and drop the step to its correct position.
  3. Return to Metrics to verify the updated order.
