How to Set Up TCPA 1 to 1 Consent & Dynamic Consent in Your Lead Capture Forms
LeadCapture.io is one of the only lead capture tools and form builders that makes it easy to manage your TCPA consent workflow. This guide will walk you through LeadCapture.io’s TCPA 1-to-1 consent feature to help ensure you’re compliantly capturing, routing, and storing proof of consent with every lead.
Important
If you’re looking to pull buyer or company names dynamically into your TCPA disclaimer text with your Lead Distribution Tool or CRM, you’ll need to review our Dynamic Consent section and go to each individual tool. You can learn more about Dynamic Consent here. Please refer to that section as needed.

Intro to LeadCapture.io’s TCPA Compliance Feature
When it comes to TCPA 1-to-1 consent, there are a number of requirements that must be satisfied to keep both the FCC and lead buyers/clients happy. While this guide won’t cover every single requirement of TCPA, it’s worth noting at a high level that TCPA 1-to-1 consent applies to anyone who is following up with leads via an automated dialing system, automated text or SMS, or AI voice systems.
However, even if you or your clients are not following up with leads via these systems, it’s still a best practice to collect consent and maintain compliance with every lead you capture.
When it comes to compliance—specifically TCPA 1-to-1 consent in LeadCapture.io—you have the option to add your company and buyer names manually to your consent section, or you can add names and additional fields dynamically if you have a more advanced use case (for example, by pinging your servers with state or ZIP code data).
This guide will focus on the manual setup first, but you’ll also find sections for dynamic consent.
Manual Consent Setup and Workflow
Note: If you need dynamic consent, please skip to the next section after reading this one. It’s still a good idea to review this section to understand how our consent system works. Setting up this section is also a prerequisite for dynamic consent.
As we noted throughout this documentation, you can set up your TCPA 1-to-1 consent section manually—meaning each time you create or update your lead capture form, you manually add your buyers, agents, or company names. Or you can do this dynamically by pinging your system with a value like state, then automatically inserting the names into the compliance text.
When it comes to manual setup, based on feedback from the LeadCapture.io user base, many customers simply create one lead capture form or funnel per client and manually update the information.
In the section below, we’ll show you how to set up TCPA 1-to-1 consent manually for situations where you need to capture consent for multiple companies or buyers—or just a single company or buyer.
Setting Up TCPA 1-to-1 Consent Manually
This section walks you through the manual setup of your TCPA 1-to-1 consent section. If you have a use case where you need dynamic consent, some of this setup will still be required first, so please review this section.
Inside of your lead capture form, go to the step that ideally has a phone field. In this example, it’s our Contact step. On the left-hand side, go to Steps, then go to TCPA Consent.
Enable Add TCPA Consent and Tagging.
Make TCPA Consent Required. In most cases, you’ll want to require TCPA consent before allowing the lead to move forward. It’s highly recommended that you keep this as required, but we wanted to make it flexible enough to give you the option.
Expand the section that says TCPA Consent.
Choose a Template. Here, you’ll see a section called TCPA Multiple Companies and TCPA Consent Single Company.
- TCPA Consent Multiple Companies is for cases where you need to add more than one company name, buyer name, or agent name to your content area as multiple checkboxes.
- TCPA Consent Single Company should be used if you need to add just one name to your lead capture form without a checkbox.
Choosing TCPA Multiple Companies
In this case, you need to add more than one name, ideally as multiple checkboxes.
Note: You can adjust design and layout in the design section by scrolling below.
- Choose TCPA Template: TCPA Multiple Companies.
- In the Consent Text box, adjust the content as needed. You can add any content you want, including custom HTML for maximum flexibility. Be sure to replace the text in brackets, adding or removing items to fit your use case.
To add a link, follow this syntax tip: you can edit the template to adapt it to your needs and insert links using the syntax:
Text of the link$https://somewhere.com
- To add a checkbox, go to the field and add the company name, then click Add Company. Add as many checkboxes as you’d like. We’ll cover styling this section shortly.
Important Note: If you’re using Dynamic Consent, the checkboxes will be overridden by the system, and the company names will dynamically appear in the checkboxes.
Choosing TCPA Single Company
If you just need to get a single company, agent, or buyer name into your compliance section, this is where you’ll adjust TCPA Single Company. In this case, checkboxes will not be used; you’ll just add the company name to the single company area. The benefit of adding this information here is that you'll be able to pass consent via webhook and tag consent with our tagging system.
- Choose TCPA Template: TCPA Consent Single Company.
- In the Consent Text box, adjust the content as needed. You can add any content you want, including custom HTML for maximum flexibility. Be sure to replace the text in brackets, adding or removing items to fit your use case.
To add a link, follow the same syntax tip:
Text of the link$https://somewhere.com
Important Note: If you’re using Dynamic Consent, you’ll use special tags in this area to dynamically add company names or phone numbers.
Styling Your TCPA 1:1 Consent
Before we move on to dynamic consent, let’s talk about styling. After you set up your consent section, the next step is to style it. As you can see from the screenshot, there are several styling options.
Here’s what you can adjust:
- Adjust TCPA text color, size, and font weight
- Align checkboxes vertically or horizontally
- Place the consent area above or below the submit button
- Adjust the text box size
- (Coming soon) Upload logos or other additional styling elements
Tagging, Storing, & Routing Consent
After you’ve set up your consent section, you’ll also need to capture, store, and route consent to your clients, buyers, or agents.
One of the unique features of LeadCapture.io is that we also tag consent with every name that’s added. For example, in your Lead List, you’ll see a section called TCPA Consent with a tag of Confirmed or Unconfirmed.
- If it appears as Confirmed in the main lead list, it means the lead has confirmed consent for at least one company (assuming you’re using more than one company).
- If you drill into the lead info, you’ll see each company listed that the lead has confirmed consent for.
This consent status, along with IP addresses and other key information, is passed through via:
- Email lead notification
- SMS lead notifications
- Webhook
- Zapier
- Direct integrations
To ensure the data successfully enters your system, you can find your TCPA webhook field names in the TCPA webhook section.
Setting a field name lets you map the consent status to your receiving system, so you can capture and store it there as well.
Setting Up TCPA Dynamic Consent
With another flip of a switch, you can enable dynamic consent.
Up to this point, we’ve covered setting up TCPA 1-to-1 consent manually. However, a common use case is to do this dynamically, where you ping a system with a value (such as a state or ZIP code), dynamically return information into the consent text, and then post that information back into the system.
LeadCapture.io is the only lead capture tool that provides a flexible and seamless way to do this across all major lead distribution tools and CRMs. Since each lead distribution tool and CRM is a bit different, we’ve covered each in its own section.
Please find your system below and navigate to the corresponding section to learn more about setting up dynamic consent with your platform.
