Use Cases for Hard-Coded Hidden Fields

There are two common situations where you might need a hard-coded hidden field:

  • Passing a hard-coded value into your CRM
  • Grabbing a value from the landing page or website

  1. Passing a Hard-Coded Value into Your CRM

To add a hard-coded hidden field to your lead form:

  1. Navigate to your form step.
  2. Select the Contact Form (or the relevant form you are using).
  3. Go to Form Fields and click on Add Form Field.

  1. Select Field Type and choose Hidden Hard-Coded Field.

  1. Set the value to the desired input. This could be a number (e.g., "2" or "1") or text (e.g., a TCPA notice).
  2. Assign a Field Name and Field Label.

  1. If posting into a CRM:
  • Ensure the Custom Field Type matches your CRM settings.
  • If using Zapier, configure the integration accordingly.

  1. Grabbing a Value from the Landing Page

If you need to capture a value from a landing page (e.g., attribution data from a script), follow these steps:

  1. Click on Add Form Field.

  1. Instead of selecting "Hard-Coded Field," choose JavaScript Variable Lookup as the field type.

  1. Enter the Variable Name from the script.
  2. Set the Field Name and Field Label.

  1. Save your changes.

Additional Notes

  • Most users pass hard-coded field values into their CRMs rather than using JavaScript variable lookups.
  • If you are using an attribution tool, ensure that the necessary script is added to your landing page.
